Living through the challenges of a world in chaos, it would be safe to say you're probably feeling a bit jittery. To say the least.
You might be trying your darndest to hold onto anything hopeful right now, repeating everything happens for a reason as you stand in line trying to score toilet paper.
Maybe you're turning to prayer, reciting that with God, all things are possible.
Perhaps you're reminded of Buddha's teachings that life is constant change and everything can change in the blink of an eye.
But, even tried and true spiritual platitudes aren't helping much about now.
Uncertainty is a tough place to be.
Even if you trust that this too shall pass and ultimately it's all good, fear sneaks in the back door. You ponder, what the heck is going to happen; what the f**k are you going to do?
Just so you know, that's your primitive, fear-based programming rising to the surface, making you feel hopeless, lost and confused. Maybe even angry and sad.
Understanding that part of your consciousness -- how it works and how to calm it down -- can make a huge difference in how you cope with the epidemic of fear going on.
Fear-based consciousness is like a frightened child, loudly insisting all kinds of negative, scary things, trying to convince of ultimate doom and gloom. No amount of logic or facts appease it, simply because it doesn't operate rationally.
Trying to ignore that child's voice, saying affirmations, setting positive intentions, chanting oms, may pacify it for a moment, but won't resolve it for long. You're sending fear to sit in a corner, having it eventually emerge kicking and screaming even louder than before.
Fear-based consciousness is what's in the way of trusting your Higher Consciousness, your intuition, your wisdom, your true power. It's what prevents you from authentically living those spiritual concepts rather than just spouting them.
It would be great to be in touch with that part of you about now, right?
Truth is, your primitive part completely believes those programmed fears, looks around and sees others in fear, adding more evidence.
Along with encouragement from experts and media, your primitive consciousness is undoubtedly in freak-out overdrive.
So, even as you obediently stay home binge watching Netflix, your mind is going haywire.
What is primitive, fear-based consciousness?
Back in prehistoric times, humans inhabiting caves had one primary concern: Physical survival. It was the full-time job of fear-based consciousness to keep humans safe no matter what.
Here’s how it worked:
Every time something happened causing pain or loss, fear-based consciousness would kick in and have the person fight, flee or freeze.
During those events it would make generalized decisions: “Large furry animals bearing teeth will bite -- stay away from them." Or “Humans carrying clubs cause pain; stay safe in your cave!”
Those decisions became permanently embedded, hard drive Operating System programs, just to keep cave dwellers safe from future anticipated animal attacks and scary, club-wielding humans.
It worked fairly well, at least during prehistoric situations.
Even though there’s been some evolution in the last several thousand years, fear-based consciousness still exists with the same exact, albeit more sophisticated, role.
Any time you experience incidents of pain or loss, real or anticipated, big or small, that survival-concerned part of your mind still kicks in and decides what will keep you safe. It generalizes to keep you safe from anything similar that may happen in the future.
These decisions become the programming running your life, affecting everything that's going on. Everything you do. Or want to do.
However, minus most of the primitive threats it was previously protecting you from, survival fears have morphed mostly into fear of losing acceptance, approval and attention.
The same fight/flight/freeze tactics to stay safe are still being used, but more subtly. They take forms of not trusting yourself, never doing anything embarrassing, suppressing your emotions, pretending to be okay, not taking risks.
The list goes on ad infinitum.
Fear-based consciousness is extremely attached to the decisions it made in the past, constantly trying to prove that what you decided was right, always reminding you how dangerous life is. It lurks patiently in the wings, waiting anxiously to jump out, saying see, told you so! Large furry animals and men with clubs are out to get you!
In fact, it will do anything to prove life is the way you decided it was.
Needless to say, when programmed, primitive fears are in charge of your life, there are some problems. However, subconsciously, you believe there’s no other choice but to listen and react by fighting, fleeing or freezing.
In all kinda ways.
What to do
Granted, there are some fears you can simply push through, convincing yourself that you’ll be fine and can handle any situation. But without getting to the root, fear may just show up in a different form.
Like it's doing now for so many.
Resolving fear and living from empowered, intuitive trust is one of the most important parts of your personal journey of Higher Evolution. Only when you do that will you step into your True Power.
How? By discovering and releasing the subconscious roots of fear's programmed power. I can help with that.

Yep, even during these chaotic, fear-riddled times.

Simultaneously, let yourself know it's okay to feel fear, it's okay to be afraid.
But remember: You are NOT your fear.
Even when evidence is appearing to prove you should be afraid, keep this FEAR acronym in mind: Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real.
And, fear is not who you are.
