Have you ever had an intuitive sense about something and soon after it was validated? Did you ever just know an answer to something with no idea how or why? Were you ever spared from something dangerous by following a gut feeling?
Intuition is constantly guiding you through life, either subtly or by hitting you over the head. Whatever works. But in this very left-brained society, trusting intuition is not emphasized or valued, is frequently mocked, even labeled as ridiculous.
Looking back, those intuitive moments may have been the most profound and important experiences of your life. Yet, intuition is shrouded in mystery, with false claims that it cannot be developed, or that only certain ‘special’ people are attuned to it.
The role of intuition is vital. It is your higher consciousness trying to reach you with a truth about yourself, others, situations or life. It is usually spontaneous, your first sense about something before logic gets in the way. Often there is no logic to back it up.
Intuition is a firm but usually subtle awareness without drum roll or drama. It can show up as knowing what to say or do; feeling creatively inspired; being able to solve a problem or recognize the possibility in a stuck situation. It is 'just knowing' without knowing how or why.
When you receive something intuitively and don’t listen, you feel ‘off’ until you do. It tugs on you relentlessly until you trust, value, and take the action you are being led to take.
Intuition comes from a wise understanding of the bigger picture of your life, so it urges you to make choices based on your true purpose. If it sends you in a direction that ends up not at all what you expected, your higher consciousness simply wanted you to learn something or clean something up.
So, set your intention to awaken and trust your intuition. Take action when you feel it pull because this muscle that gets stronger each time you listen to it.
Of course there is always the 'pie-in-the-face' method: Don’t listen and see what happens.
It certainly makes it easier to listen from then on!
