JUST ADMIT IT: INNER-ACTION #4

During this ongoing Planetary Pause, this series of blogs is an opening to spend some inner face-to-face time. Each topic focuses on one issue, and, serendipitously, they all start with the letter A. Challenge yourself to raise your vibe...it just might help the planet!

Although the planet is still committedly turning on its axis, "normal" life is still very much in limbo. Besides being home-bound, you’re probably feeling trapped in other ways as well. Plus, with so much uncertainty, it’s understandable to feel powerless, overwhelmed, like a true victim of circumstance.

There might not be easy fixes for this situation, but there are all-ways opportunities to change your mind, or how you choose to think about what's going on.

Honestly, that's a huge accomplishment!

Why? Because shifting your perception of any situation can exponentially change your experience of it, even during topsy-turvy times like now.

Choosing

Carl Jung said it perfectly: “Until you make the unconscious, conscious, it will rule your life and you will call it Fate.”

Translation: Situations and experiences arriving in your life are all connected to, and a reflection of, your subconscious beliefs.

Sounds like some heavy responsibility to lay on you. Especially now.

It's easier to know that things happen on a collective subconscious level since human consciousness is interconnected. You are part of the Butterfly Effect -- what affects one affects all.

With that in mind, accessing hidden, denied, subconscious beliefs, becoming conscious of them, changes what feels like “fate.”

How to do that

The place to start is by awareness of and admitting your “dark side.”

What’s a “dark side”?

Put aside those scary Darth Vader images.

"Dark side” is all the fears you’ve denied by acting brave or strong. It’s the anger you suppress by pretending to not care; the sadness you camouflage with a smile; the judgements you beautify with sarcasm; the negativity you conceal with spiritual platitudes.

Most importantly, "dark side" is those things you’ve done that you feel bad or guilty about. Those things your conscious mind had you “forget,” hiding them in the dark closet of your subconscious, hoping no one will open the door to peek inside.

Admitting is tough

Getting your subconscious to admit its "dark side" to your conscious mind is the most challenging part. Why? Because it would much rather you look like a victim.

Repeat: Most challenging. Gulp.

Truth is, things that show up in your life are magnetized based on your primitive, fear-based consciousness wanting them. On a subconscious level, you believe you deserve that or it need it to make a statement of some kind.

Disclaimer: Since you’re doing this subconsciously, no need to feel guilty. Really.

Rather, it’s about taking responsibility, admitting that some part of you is getting some kind of positive or negative “reward” from every experience. Especially things that keep repeating.

Admitting transports a lie you’ve been subconsciously living into your conscious mind, which releases some of its negative, life-controlling power.

What to do Many disciplines say just state affirmations, put positive thoughts “out there” and all you desire will manifest.

But trying to bypass or overthrow powerful, "dark side," subconscious beliefs rarely if ever works.

Why? Your conscious intentions are quite a bit weaker than those subconscious notions running the show from behind the scenes.

For example, if you have a subconscious belief that don’t deserve money, getting a secret reward from having people feel sorry and rescue you, then everything in your life becomes that. Manifest a good income won’t conquer that notion; you'll be unable to fully experience your wealth, live in constant fear of losing it, or squander it until it’s gone.

Admitting is good

By admitting that whatever is showing up in your life is an accurate reflection of your inner state, you can stop feeling like a victim.

Admitting your subconscious “dark side” releases the energy that went into disowning and suppressing it, so things can shift. Positive situations can start manifesting effortlessly; even your perception of life can change.

This self-time is an empowering opportunity to be the Hundredth Monkey simply by admitting your "dark side" beliefs, even to yourself.

Admittedly, you deserve.
